Ali Kerim Akay
He completed Ä°SMEK Cinema and Television course opened in 2002. Later, he completed cinema and documentary courses in two different art centers. While attending the Anthropology Department at Istanbul University, he participated in studies at BoÄŸaziçi University Mithat Alam Film Center and he started working as an editor. He won scholarship for enrollment at Bilgi University Photography and Video Department. He edited numerous student films, various short and medium films, promotional films, documentaries and music clips. He continues to work as a photographer, cinematographer and editor. In 2017, the short documentary film Game of Territory, which he edited, won the best documentary award in the "California, Back in the Box" competition. In 2018, the movie Recipe, of which he was the cinematographer and editor, was screened at the 71st Cannes Film Festival and ranked 29th in the Short Film Catalogue. In January 2021, he undertook the editing and coloring of Fehmi Gerçeker's documentary That Grand Tree about the Walking Mansion. He continues to work with Fehmi Gerçeker in his new projects.
